Every Day Counts

At Maeroa, we know that being at school every day makes a big difference. The Ministry of Education reminds us that regular attendance is one of the most important factors in student success – both in learning and in building strong friendships.

Every day at school is a chance to learn something new, take part in activities, and grow alongside classmates. When students miss school, they miss important lessons and the connections that help them feel confident and supported. Even a few days away can add up quickly and make it harder to keep up.

Families play a vital role in supporting regular attendance. This means helping children get to school on time, keeping communication open with us, and letting us know about any absences. As part of our safety measures, we will contact families every day if a student is absent or running late, to make sure all students are where they are meant to be.

We encourage all students and whānau to make school a daily priority. By being here, ready to learn, you give yourself the best chance to succeed – not just this year, but in the years ahead.
